Want behind the scenes access to what happens at a letterpress studio? Come experience a demo at the Sonoma County Letterpress Studio by Katie Nealon.
Katie has been binding and making books for over a decade and laying type and letterpress printing since 2008. This will be a slightly more active meetup, with a demo followed by some Q&A about the letterpress printing process.
Aspiring and experienced designers are all welcome.

In order for us to work together we need to define what it means to collaborate. Only then can we build a structure and culture around collaboration that works. Join us October 28th, 2015 to better understand how designers can work together with, yes that’s right, other designers.
Ever feel like you can’t keep up with the news in our design field? Current trends too overwhelming? Love or hate the new Google logo? We know how you feel. Let’s get together, learn from each other, and have some stimulating design conversation. We’ll curate a list of topics for the group so we can have some focused conversation.
If there is something you really want to discuss, post in the meetup group, or in our Facebook group here: North Bay Designers on Facebook
We’re super excited about this meetup and can’t wait to see what we all create together. We’re going to break into teams and invade downtown Santa Rosa to capture just the right shot. You and your team will get your assignment and with limited time go get that shot.
All skill levels welcome. We’re hoping to have advanced photographers and novices paired together. Either way, expect to learn something. Bring your smartphone camera, or dedicated camera and laptop if you have one (don’t forget your card readers if you bring a camera).
I’m really excited about this meetup – we get to see some of our own members shine. We have three lightning talks, about 15min each. Each talk will follow a discussion period, before we launch into the next talk. Please come ready to ask questions and share your own experience. The focus here is collaboration and discussion.
Gary Palmatier is an experience book designer and will talk about his craft. Michael Slater from Webvanta is going to discuss designing for database-driven sites. Shana Bull will be talking about how photography and graphics impact the effectiveness of social media.
Time for a social break with your creative brethren. Nobody understand’s a creative… well, like a creative. We’re gathering at La Rosa for a night or refreshments and connection.
All are welcome. If this is your first event, it’s a great opportunity to meet some local creatives. If you’ve been to an event before, then it will be a great night to reaffirm your connections with other members.
